Local Search: Targeted Internet Marketing

Many businesses would like to utilize local internet marketing to advertise their business and increase the number of customers or clients, thereby increasing profits. “I do not believe you can do today’s job with yesterday’s methods and be in business tomorrow.” Nelson Jackson Yellow Pages, TV. Radio and newspaper advertising are rapidly disappearing. They no longer work. When was the last time you actually looked up anything in the Yellow Pages? Most of us tune-out TV and radio ads, and newspapers are quickly disappearing. All these forms of advertising are being replaced with the Internet. High Speed Internet is now in the majority of homes, and can be accessed on mobile devices such as 3G phones, iPods, etc. People can now obtain information on just about anything, from anywhere. If you and your family are out for a Sunday drive and decide that you are hungry for Italian food, you can have directions to the nearest Italian restaurant in less than a minute. One out of three online searches is local searches. Each month there are 2.6 Billion searches, and that number is increasing each month. 83% of people first search online before making a local purchase. Business owners, small or large, who desire to reach the largest number of potential customers, need to have an integrated Search Engine Optimization campaign that puts their business on the front page of Google and the other major search engines. Understandably most business owners do not have the knowledge, time or desire to become an SEO expert and run their business at the same time. “The purpose of business is to create and keep customers”. Peter F. Drucker Local Search: by tapping into the local Internet market you can increase your business with targeted Internet marketing. When your potential customer or client searches for a product or service that you provide, be first in line to give them what they are looking for.

I had someone trying to sell me Yellow page advertising the other day. The ad costs $300 per year and that was a small one inch ad. I told him that if he could refer to me 6 hours of work at $50/hour I would buy an ad from him. My guess is I will not hear from him again. I told him I use the Internet for my advertising and he told me that was for the future. I couldn't help think to myself he was living in the past. If I am already #3 on Google for wood floor repairs Centralia, WA why would I spend $300?
