Keywords: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

By David Enders

The first step in building your online business is research. You need to determine that the niche market you that you are interested in has enough search volume to make it worth your while.

Maybe you are interested in the blue tongue Australian lizard. That’s great, but how many other people are also interested in it (go ahead and Google it, see what you get)?

How many people world wide are interested in it?

Is that enough people to make it profitable to create a product about blue tongue Australian lizards?

Only Research Will Answer That Question

·Maybe there is very little, or no interest in it

·Huge interest has saturated the market

·Low interest and high competition

·High interest and low competition (ideal)

It is very difficult to attain success with a high competition niche market. It’s like going to a birthday party with only one cake and 100 guest, your piece is going to be very small.

Keyword research will determine your success online. Remember that not all keywords are created equal. You have “just looking” keywords; and you have “I want to buy” keywords.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

·A good keyword phrase is one that has significant number of searches, but a low competition rate

·A bad keyword is one that has a high competition rate.

·A ugly keyword is one where you have few, if any, searches (low demand)

It is vital that you take the time to learn keyword research; your traffic will come from the keyword phrase you choose.

Thank you for sharing in layman's terms, David.
Most newbies, as I, don't realize that Keywords are the start of everything internet.
Best wishes.

blue tongue Australian lizard has 49,700 results. I need to make a webpage about that today (grin) I would say that's pretty good for something ugly.

I tried to sign up for your newsletter but I think you have an extra s in the URL on your external link. You might want to edit that. I tried signing up on your website and it redirects to http://business.blinkweb.com/ Is that where you mean for it to go?

Some of the keywords I use and place well for are

free new products #1 on Google

Air Force Test Game #2 on Google

planets in another galaxy #2 on Google those online in another Galaxy

interesting facts from around the world # 1 on Google

damaged Ferraris for sale #2 on Google

Hi David,
Good advice.
This link "Keyword E-Newsletter" doesn't work because of a miss spelling here http://keyword-generastor-tool.com/. I think you should be able to edit it to http://keyword-generator-tool.com.
