If You’re Going To Be A Bear, Be A Grizzly!
I remember when I was probably about 12 years old we were attending a picnic with several of my dad’s business associates. All the men were sitting together talking while the women were preparing the food. I don’t remember the subject of the conversation, but I do remember one statement that has stuck with me all my life. These are the exact words spoken: “If you’re going to be a bear; be a grizzly”. At the time I thought that it was funny, but as I grew older I began to understand the meaning behind these words. Recently I heard a quote attributed to Donald Trump: “You have to think anyway, so you might as well think big”. I realized that both men were saying the same thing. You may have heard it said several different ways; Dream Big, Aim High, Shoot For The Stars, etc. As a network marketer I have heard many associates say something like this: “I don’t want to be rich, I just want to make enough to be comfortable”. Most people would consider this a prudent statement, but I feel it is one of the reasons many people fail. Most of us don’t dream big enough. Here is a simple explanation why this is faulty thinking. The majority of people will not accomplish 50% of their goals. I am speaking of over their lifetime, and some will do more and some less. Let’s say you have a goal of earning $100 and you only reach 50% of your goal. That means you earned $50. But if your goal was to earn $1000 and you only earned 50%, then your earnings would be $500.
We all need to think bigger, because even in failure you can accomplish more than the average person ever will!
